Q: How do I make a reservation?  A: Should you wish to telephone us, we will of course ring you back straight away! Alternatively, leave your telephone number on our answer phone (after the default Spanish voice message & the usual beep). Or email us and we shall endeavour to get back to you within 24 hours. Once your flight has been confirmed, let us know your details, including arrival / departure times and flight numbers as this will help us collect / escort you from the airport.
Q: I haven't arranged my flight yet, does this matter?  A: Not at all. We are flexible over dates, as we realise many people have problems co-ordinating flights and accommodation (as you don't always get the dates you would like). If you give us some idea of when you would like to visit us at Los Avellanos, we can let you know availability.
Q: Do we pay on arrival or departure?  A: We only require the payment for your room on arrival, any extras, including meals, can be paid for on departure.
Q: Do you provide a collection / escort service from / to the airport?  A: Yes! Even if you are thinking of hiring a car, most of our guests have found this a welcome respite after their flight. We provide a collection or escort service from the airport free of charge, but a small fuel supplement of 20€ will be required if you decide you would like an escort on your return. We will need to know your flight details, including arrival / departure times and flight numbers prior to your visit.
Q: We would like to hire a car, how do we do this?  A: There are plenty of car hire companies in and around the airport. Links to some of these can be found on the ‘Links’ page. If you choose to use our escort service from the airport we can help with any translation, if necessary.
Q: I'm nervous about driving abroad, what's it like?  A: The roads are very similar to the UK! However, the cars are all left-hand drive and we drive on the right hand-side of the road. Take your time and you will soon get used to it! You will need a full valid UK driving licence. We recommend a relatively powerful engine to cope with some of the mountain roads as they can be quite steep in places.
Q: Is there somewhere to park my hire car?  A: Yes, we have our own private, secure drive with ample space for 6 cars.
Q: How far is it from the airport to Los Avellanos?  A: The airport is situated in Telde which is 36km from Teror and because of the winding roads through the mountains it takes around 40 min by car. (But it won’t seem that long)!
Q: I do not wish to hire a car, will this be a problem?  A: The public transport on the island is very good and regularly available. There is a bus stop within  2 minutes walking distance from Los Avellanos and we have current bus timetables that enable you to get to anywhere on the island.
